The first full show day at Spectrum Miami was a success. Thousands of attendees from all over the world flocked to the event to see stunning artwork from over 200 galleries and artists hailing from as close as Miami and as far as China. Showgoers got to partake in Meet the Artists events, see impressive installations, and purchase one-of-a-kind art from talented career artists.
But the highlights of the day were the live art demonstrations. Spotlight Artist Shannon DeFreitas dipped her paintbrush in bright pink paint and painted her canvas—the body of a gorgeous model moving to music—resulting in a unique abstract image full of color. “I am an artist. I am also a firefighter/paramedic, and yes, I experience tragedy, grief, and even death often, so I choose to paint the human body with brilliant colors to glorify the beauty of life. I put life … Deep In Paint,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
Over the in the Life Is Art Art Lab, four artists offered a glimpse into how each piece of art uniquely emerges, giving light to their creativity and medium. Inspired by Spectrum Miami’s theme [FUSION], the specially selected group of artists created its next masterpiece right in front of attendees’ eyes.
Other highlights included an Art Talks by Gustavo Fernández and Rafael Vera. For a full roster of the 200+ galleries and studio artists showcasing their work at Spectrum Miami, check out our exhibitor list.
