Spectrum Miami wouldn’t be a celebration of the best modern and contemporary art world has to offer without a few parties, and we’re thrilled to be celebrating the fifth anniversary of ArtSpot. A high-end standalone event inside Spectrum Miami, ArtSpot specializes in modern and contemporary art with an emphasis on international and Latin American artists.
The fifth edition of ArtSpot will include a VIP party for special guests, collectors, and exhibitors Friday, Dec. 8, as well as a limited art series, “Made in the USA,” that represents a diverse cultural group of artists depicting what that phrase means to them through their works. The series will feature works by Shelley Lake, Scott Ashley, and Matt Stock, among others, and will explore cultural heritage, identification to political ideology, and social issues. A highlight of the series is Homage to Jasper Johns, a silkscreen by Emiliano Gironella Parra, which is included in the book 1001 Paintings You Must See Before You Die by Stephen Farthing.
The five-day fine art experience is curated and directed by international art dealer Aldo Castillo. Considered one of the most respected authorities on modern and contemporary art, Castillo offers innovative and alternative art to affluent collectors, worldwide art institutions, designers, architects, and art enthusiasts.Previous editions of ArtSpot have included works from Perimeter Gallery of Chicago; The Athens Gallery of Greece; Ashok Jain Gallery of New York; Pink Bastard Art Forum of Miami; The Americas Collection of Miami; Ford Fine Art Gallery of Delray Beach, Florida; and Galeria de Arte la Sala of Chile.
