Every year, Spectrum Miami’s LaunchPad Program provides a young, unrepresented artist the opportunity to present a site-specific exhibition within the show. This year, in a collaboration between Life is Art and Spectrum Miami, artist Renuka Adhav has been selected.
Once a nuclear medicine technologist, Adhav decided to explore her passion for art in 2012 by pursuing a BFA in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design. Mainly an oil painter, but open to experimentation with other materials and media, Adhav says her work “explores the contradiction of illusion and perception of reality. Various mediums are made to interact with one another causing landscape and environment formations. These alchemical discoveries provide a glimpse of a place that feels alien, yet intimate.”
Adhav graduated with her BFA in 2015 and now resides and works in Miami. She has had her work featured in several galleries in Atlanta and Savannah, including Fahm Gallery, Ferrari Fine Art Gallery, Cherrylion Studios, and Moxie Interactive. In addition to her exhibition at Spectrum Miami this year, she’ll be a part of Life is Art’s ArtPlay event on both Thursday and Friday, creating her next masterpiece onsite. You can learn more about Renuka Adhav on her website.
