Putting the Art in Party at Spectrum Day Three
Friday at Spectrum Miami 2017 was full of festivities. Gaston Locklear kicked things off with an Art Talk where he shared how he strives to create art that has both a physical and emotional presence. Then using found materials, he created his next piece live. Michael Alfano, Kevin Grass, Gian Franco Guerrieri, Nino Liguori, and Philson also inspired the audience with their live art demonstrations.
Things really started to heat up with the kick off of Art After Dark, an evening of full of red carpet arrivals, champagne and hors d’ouevres, live music and painting demonstrations by renowned artists, and more sponsored by Louis Jadot Wine and Fortune International Realty in the Red Dot Miami Tent. At Art Loves Fashion, curated by Celia Evans of Planet Fashion TV, models posed as live mannequins, dressed in gorgeous global fashions. Attendees, including many Canvas Condos community members, were able to get up close and personal to see the latest and most cutting-edge works of art as fashion.
Over in the Spectrum Miami Tent, attendees were celebrating the fifth anniversary of ArtSpot Miami. A high-end standalone event inside Spectrum Miami, ArtSpot specializes in modern and contemporary art with an emphasis on international and Latin American artists. In addition to the party, showgoers enjoyed “Made in the USA,” a limited series that represents a diverse cultural group of artists depicting what that phrase means to them through their works. A highlight of the series was Homage to Jasper Johns, a silkscreen by Emiliano Gironella Parra, which is included in the book 1001 Paintings You Must See Before You Die by Stephen Farthing.
Coming up today are Art Talks by Tristina Dietz Elmes and Asbel Gomez Dumpierre, lots of Meet the Artist events, and more. Check the full schedule to see who’s participating when.
