Those of you who attended last year’s show will no doubt recall Miami artist Charlie Hanavich’s vibrant, larger-than-life canvases. If you need a little reminder, here’s one of them:
If you’d like to see Charlie in action, here’s a fun video of the artist painting in Miami. The video includes some wonderful shots of the city, so if you haven’t visited yet, you’ll be tempted!
Charlie Hanavich’s works are vibrant, colorful and filled with life—whether a bouquet of flowers bursting into bloom, a sea turtle gliding through the ocean, or a sensuous nude striking a provocative pose. A self-taught artist, Charlie was born in Atlanta, GA, and attended The University of Alabama, where he studied Advertising and Art History. He now lives and paints in Miami.
The artist says his paintings are fueled by a combination of personalities, personal experience, and his favorite artists. The CH Grid Series, for instance—Charlie’s most recent work—is strongly influenced by Chuck Close. Masters like Picasso, Dali, de Kooning and Kandinsky are also strong influences.
Shortly after last year’s show ended, we received a wonderful email from Charles, stating:
Thank you for the amazing opportunity at the show. The entire event was incredible, but more importantly, I had a blast taking in the whole experience. Many great things are happening here since the show; I’ve sold several paintings in addition to receiving many commission requests.
That’s the kind of feedback we love to hear! And that’s why we’re here—to offer talented, mid-career artists the opportunity to gain even more exposure and success.
